What is Commissioning?

Commissioning (Cx) is the process of confirming that a newly constructed facility is fulfilling the functional and operating performance requirements of the building owner, occupants and staff. The Cx process establishes and documents the owner’s criteria for system performance and maintainability, and verifies compliance throughout design, construction, start-up, and the initial operating period.

Cx is an involved and complex process of establishing design intent as well as integrated building systems performance for many building systems; these may include HVAC, lighting, building automation systems (BAS), fire/life safety systems, compressed air systems, electrical power generators, security, telecom and water usage.

Our comprehensive approach complies with LEED Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning guidelines, as well as ASHRAE Guideline 0, and includes the following activities:
