The Capitol Area East End Complex was recognized with the Green Building Award at the recent 2008 Green California Leadership Awards in April. Selected from more than 80 entries, the Department of General Services received the award in Sacramento from the Governor’s Climate Change Action Bureau for its Department of Health Services Building. The four-building complex also earned a Gold rating from the USGBC for "green" building operations and maintenance practices. Enovity provided consultative services to DGS on the energy efficiency features and assisted in providing commissioning oversight. The East End project Block 225 was awarded a LEED-EB Gold Certification, becoming the first government campus certified by the USGBC.

Enovity was a sponsor of the 2008 National Conference on Building Commissioning and sent six speakers to the event in April. Greg Cunningham and Randy Despain spoke on “A Utility-Sponsored Incentive Program for Monitoring-Based Commissioning of Existing Buildings Using FDD Toolsets.” Jonathan Soper and Tim Fackler spoke on “Controls Integration and the Path to More Efficient Buildings.” Vivek Mittal contributed to the session on the “Evolution of Commissioning within a School District: Provider and Owner/Operator's Perspectives,” and Timothy Chin presented “Establishing a Team Environment in New Building Commissioning.”
