Greg Cunningham,
AIA, Principal
directs the firm’s activities related to design, research and technical analysis for sustainable and energy efficient buildings. Greg’s experience in the design and construction profession spans 30 years, with more than 20 years in building energy performance, evaluation and verification. An example of this leadership was his role in energy design oversight and his participation on the State of California’s Green Team for the Capitol Area East End Project. He also developed the County of Alameda’s New Construction Energy Performance Standards and is currently the principal in charge for the commissioning of the new 320,000 square foot County of Alameda Hall Juvenile Justice Complex and the Oakland International Airport Terminal Expansion Project. He worked on the San Francisco International Airport, Pacific Bell Park (Home of the SF Giants), and the Ronald Regan Presidential Library. Greg is expert in DOE-2 modeling and served on the Professional Advisory Group (PAG) to the California Energy Commission for the development of the Title 24 Energy Standards. He currently is on the Advisory Board to the California Commissioning Collaborative. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from U.C. Berkeley in 1978 and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Planning (Energy Technology) from Arizona State University in 1981. He is a licensed architect, a member of the American Institute of Architects, a member of the Building Commissioning Association (BCxA) and a member of the USGBC.
Jonathan Soper,
P.E., Principal
directs the firm’s activities in commissioning, measurement and verification, engineering reviews, facility energy audits, project management, facility operations and construction administration. Jonathan has thirteen years of experience in new construction and retrofit projects involving energy and facility infrastructure strategies in the U.S. and the U.K. An example of this leadership is his management of multiple contracts for the Federal General Services Administration (GSA), providing energy project evaluation, facility management of infrastructure improvements, distributed generation feasibility analyses, construction administration and on-site facility operations, troubleshooting and building maintenance. He is currently the responsible principal for commissioning of the new GSA Federal Building in downtown San Francisco and for the Enovity 3rd Monitoring-Based Persistence Commissioning Program (MBPCx) for PG&E’s 3rd Party CPUC-funded 2006-2008 Energy Resources Portfolio. Prior to forming Enovity, Jonathan’s work focused on retro-commissioning and construction administration for numerous private and public sector facilities. Jonathan earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Surrey, Guildford, U.K. in 1986, and a Master of Science in Energy Conservation and the Environment from the Cranfield Institute of Technology in 1992. Mr. Soper is a Professional Engineer licensed in California and a member of ASHRAE.
